Step 1:

It is a well-known fact that frozen catfish are completely thawed. You can clean and rinse catfish carefully.

Step 2:

Once you have cleaned the catfish thoroughly, you can cut them into chunks. It is important to remove their gills before boiling them. It is because it may give your recipe a bitter taste.

Step 3:

Find a cast-iron pot with fire logs for your outdoor boil. This kind of pot can work properly. If you do not have a cast-iron pot, you can use an aluminum or stainless steel pot.

Step 4:

If you plan for an indoor boil, you can choose a big stockpot.  Alternatively, you can also use aluminum or stainless steel pot on your stovetop.  When the pot includes a strainer insert or basket, it will be easier for you to remove the catfish once boiled.

Step 5

Put the chunks into a pan with a blend of white wine and water, milk, water, or wine.  You can ensure that the fluid will cover up to 1/2 of fish.

Step 6

You can boil it in low heat. It will avoid the breakage of this delicate meat.  The average boiling time for small pieces is 15 to 20 minutes. You can take 30 to 40 minutes to boil the whole fish or large pieces

You can add a pinch of sugar and salt with crushed garlic

Step 8:

You can add the slices of onion or lemon, dill, peppercorns, saffron, thyme, marjoram, and any other spices

Step 9:

You can add even dried mushrooms for brewing purposes. You can ensure that you can boil catfish under fully sealed cover

Step 10:

The catfish is cooked when it completely turns brighter. You can use a slotted spoon for removing the fish from water when you do not have a basket or filter for your pot. It is helpful to know that the liquid from your cooking is used for cooking the sauce.
