Below-mentioned are some of the seasonal hits that will leave you craving for more and are a must-try:

Gajar ka Halwa: Although an all-time favorite, Gajar ka halwa cravings reach an all-time high during winters. Cooked with ghee or clarified butter and laden with dry fruits, this sweet dish has so many benefits. Carrots being rich in dietary fiber help regulate the body’s sugar levels while ghee enhances physical and mental well-being. Dry fruits, on the other hand, help combat colds.

Sarson da Saag: Made with spinach, winter is the harvest season of this famous Punjabi dish. Paired with makki ki roti, jaggery, and homemade butter, sarson ka saag is rich in nutritional value. It is packed with iron, protein and has anti-inflammatory properties. Makki and jaggery which are mostly consumers with saag are also nutritious foods that will help you boost your immunity.

Spicy sweet potatoes: One reason why you will find sweet potatoes being sold everywhere during winters is that they are available in abundance during the season. While some like it roasted, others prefer it boiled and spiced. There are also others who cook it like a vegetable to be eaten with roti. They have high fiber content and rich in vitamins and minerals.

Gaund ke laddo: Gaund is the edible gum, extracted from the barks of a tree. This special winter ingredient offers warmth to the body and helps battle winter chills. Prepared with ghee and dry fruits, gaund laddoos are best enjoyed with a glass of warm milk.

Rasam: This one is a light soup dish, prepared with traditional spices, and is a specialty of South India. Red lentils which are the key ingredient are rich in fiber, proteins, and antioxidants. Since it has added veggies, it can also serve as a wholesome meal. A piping hot bowl of rasam will surely make your winters more bearable.

Soups: For most people, soup is a godsend and an ultimate solution to all the winter woes. For the best soups in town, you can head to any of the Pan Asian restaurants in Delhi such as Mamagoto, Select Citywalk.
